Handcrafted Spun Cotton Ornaments
The spun cotton toys I create trace their origins to late 19th-century Germany.
During the harsh winters, artisans are said to have carefully wrapped cotton—a material close at hand—to craft delicate, colorful ornaments.
Once known as “cotton dolls,” these creations became beloved decorations for Victorian Christmas trees, bringing a gentle warmth into people’s homes and lives.
At Little Tale Box, what I cherish above all is the timeless warmth and quiet beauty born from such handcraft.
Though this traditional technique was once nearly forgotten, the unique texture and nostalgic presence passed down through generations continue to softly move our hearts even today.
While honoring these methods, I create each piece by hand, breathing a new story into every small form.
I would be truly happy if my work could bring you a moment of gentle warmth—like a fragment of a story you once loved, quietly returning to you.
